Position Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Injection Molding to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring robust injection molding processes and tooling that meet customer expectations and align with Plasman’s standards and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure tooling and injection processes meet customer expectations at SAT in terms of RFT, CT, and process excellence.
Deploy corporate standards and best practices across HQ and plants.
Participate in tool concept validation and injection system definition.
Define and write specifications for IMM’s, robot cells, grippers, and peripheral equipment.
Oversee tool development from pre-study to concept freeze and follow up on manufacturing processes.
Lead trials up to SAT and provide analysis and synthesis of results.
Ensure injection process tuning to meet targets for RFT, scrap, and cycle time.
Support quotation processes for IMM’s, injection, and tooling perimeter.
Collaborate with Sales during quoting to provide technical feedback.
Propose cost-saving solutions in design and investment.
Provide training for plant teams and ensure standardization across sites.
Support plants post-SOP with injection process optimization.
Ability to work within production environments (IMM, robot cells, paint shop, toolmaker facility).
Skills & Personal Qualities
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong knowledge of plastic materials and rheology studies.
Competence in tool design, process settings, and robot programming.
Familiarity with QM techniques (e.g., PFMEA), A3 problem-solving, Ishikawa diagrams.
Lean methodology expertise.
Positive attitude, open-minded approach, and strong communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability and team management skills.
Strong planning and deadline management.
Experience with project management tools.
Education & Experience
Occupational degree or equivalent in plastics technology or injection tool design.
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in injection molding and tooling within the automotive industry.
Compliance & Travel
Comply with Plasman governance, including Code of Conduct and company policies.
Support purchasing and sales teams with technical expertise.
This role may involve national and international travel.
